Good morning, all. Yesterday was our Mixed Tournament. Thanks to the pro and staff of Windham CC for managing the day with attention to both golf and distancing. Reports are the day went well and the golf was stellar. The results by flights will be posted on the website in the coming days but, for now, you can be impressed by the scores of the overall gross and net winners.
Applause to Pat Mayne and Rob Helm (both of Western Turnpike) who shot a below par 65 to take the Overall Low Gross win.
Congratulations also to Nancy Van Duesen and Tom Collins (both of Cobleskill) who posted a 56.4 to win the Overall Low Net.
Our next events are in the next two weeks. August 5th we are playing the Gail Purdy Brophy Tournament (the Better Two of Four Ball) at Wolfert’s Roost. (Registration for that event is now closed.) On August 11 we are playing the Two Person Scramble at Canajoharie CC. (Registration will close on August 4.)
The NEWGA Championship Tournament is scheduled for August 19 and 20. (Registration is open until August 12.) The Championship will be hosted by Pinehaven CC.
Our thanks to the folks who make this season possible and who carry out their tasks behind the scene. The NEWGA Reps have been particularly important during this season when covid concerns require some adjustments to hosting our players. This has been offered without hesitation. Thank you. Events on our calendar have been rescheduled and scheduled again. That has compressed our dates and has kept our scheduler, tournament chair, treasurer, and web chair on their respective toes. Thank you Linda, Jane, Peg and Kathy for your efforts. You are appreciated.
And, thank you all for supporting NEWGA through this season. We owe the season of 2020 to you.
