2021 Senior & Super Senior NEWGA Championship

From  President Donna:

Yesterday we completed the two day Seniors Championship Tournament. We had a fine two days at Country Club of Troy.  Thank You’s go to NEWGA reps, Sue Mooradian and Lynn Momrow Zelinski.  We appreciate your efforts in organizing the event. And, thanks to the pro shop staff who was both gracious and efficient. Also thank you to the grounds crew;  the course was in great shape and the greens, as always, were challenging.  But we had golfers who met those challenges.  After two days and 36 holes our NEWGA Senior and Super Senior Champions were named.  The full results are on the web site, but accolades here for the Champs.

Our Senior Champion is Sue Kahler of Ballston Spa.  She posted a two day score of 76-78 to finish with an impressive 154.  Sue posted the low score of all flights. Sue has had a good year of golf.  Also, kudos to Jen DiIorio of Burden Lake who finished two strokes back at 156.  Great scores!

Our Super Senior, who comes from the over 70 age group,  is Linda Kolnick of Canajoharie. She posted scores of 80-81 to finish with a 161 total.  Linda posted the low score of the 5th and 6th flights. Great play, Linda.  And, applause to Anne Poulin of Mohawk who was only four strokes back with a 165.
Low gross scores leading their respective flights (from younger to older) were:  1st Flight Jen DiIorio (156), 2nd Flight Heidi Harkins (162), 3rd Anne Van Buren (166), 4th Kathy Harkins (175), 5th Anne Poulin (154) and 6th Kate Oeppedisano (180)….
We had a field of 59 women and, to all who played – congratulations,…we managed two days of golf and we aren’t done yet…
