NEWGA held its fourth event of the 2025 season Tuesday, the Mixed Modified Chapman Scramble, at Normanside CC. It was a return to Normanside for NEWGA after many years. For a large percentage of members, it was the first time playing this beautiful private course located in Delmar, NY. The “newbies” might not have known that lots of changes have taken place to the landscape of NCC in recent years, with several trees being removed and replaced with traditional fescue in many areas. The fescue, coupled with the various slopes and abundant blind shots certainly challenged the 46 female/male 2-person teams and was a lot of fun!
Kim and Rick Lloyd (Shaker Ridge) recaptured their 2022 Overall Low Gross Mixed Title recording a great round of 67, winning on a match of cards with Carrie Hagwell (Edison) and her partner Tony Riccio! Debbie Langevin and John Dahl (Cobleskill) took home Overall Low Net honors, besting the field by 2 strokes with a 53 net. Check out the complete list of gross and net winners in all six flights at newgagolf.com in the Member Section under Tournament Results. Congratulations to all participants!
Thank you to Normanside’s NEWGA Rep Anne Krajewski for coordinating a delicious and abundant luncheon buffet, the churro dessert bar was brilliant! Kudos also to Director of Golf Brian Hampson and Head Pro Corey Armstrong and their staff for their preparations for us and cooperation working with our superstar Tournament Chair Sandy Morley!
NEWGA’s next event is the 2-person Scramble at Oneonta GC, Monday July 21. Online registration opens this Saturday, July 5.
As always, thanks for playing!
