Spring 2019 News

The Mixed Event at Western Turnpike is now open for registering. You can access the registration form by clicking on the name of the event under Upcoming Tournaments or Open Tournament sections of the website. When signing up your team, please indicate your guest’s name, club and handicap index in the comment section of the form. The fee is $65 per player or total of $130.00. Please note there is a drop box for payment type. Click on the down arrow for options to pay by credit card or check. If you choose to pay by check, please mail immediately so that it is posted by the closing date. When paying by credit card you should choose to pay for 2 players, as there is no access for your guest to pay online direct.

It was a beautiful day to improve 9 hole scores by playing the yellow tees twice at Van Schaick Island CC. Heather Morrison of Burden Lake CC shot a 37 for overall gross and Selena Balick of Shaker Ridge CC shot 28 for overall net. See Tournament tab for complete results.

Our season began with a four person scramble on May 21st. Eighty members braved a cold and blustery day at Troy Country Club. Congrats to the Ballston Spa women who took Overall Gross and Overall Net. Complete results are posted under the Tournament tab.

Spring Meeting was held April 28th at Shaker Ridge CC with 17 of 23 member clubs in attendance. We welcomed new & returning member Clubs: Fox Run Golf Club and Country Club of Troy. Troy is hosting our first event on May 21st. Closing for this event is May 14th.

Our newly revised website was launched by Kim Lloyd of Latham Group Consulting. We are very pleased with the number of members who have taken advantage of signing onto the website.

Our guest speaker, Wendy Dominick, District Chair of the Rules and Competitions Committee for the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) gave a great presentation of the 2019 USGA rules.
