Another successful NEWGA Tournament in the books this week after another extremely hot day on a stunning golf course! The Gail Sykes – Better Ball of Partners event was held at Albany Country Club last Monday. Thanks to the coordination by ACC NEWGA Rep Heidi Glazier and support of Dawn Fleck, Head Pro Glenn Davis’ golf staff (Jermey & Mike) and the stellar restaurant staff, members were treated to a first-class event!
Sue Kahler and Heidi Harkins (Ballston Spa CC) led the 38-team field taking home the Overall Gross honors with a 72 while fellow BSCC colleagues Cindy Walkanowski and Deb DiMaggio captured the Overall Net prize, carding a 66, narrowly edging out the teams of Mary Lee Pollard (Ballston Spa) and Sandy DerGurahian (Western Turnpike) and Kiki Hart (Burden Lake) and Diane Delmater (Copake) by one stroke! Great playing by all participants!
We have 3 more NEWGA events remaining on our 2024 calendar. Online registration is currently open until Sunday, July 21 for the 2-day NEWGA Championship at McGregor Links July 31 and Aug.1. Reg opens July 27 for the fun Team Play Event (1 Gross, 1 Net of 4) at Cobleskill Golf Club Aug. 12 and our final event, the 2-day Senior Championship hosted by Colonie Country Club on Aug. 27-28 will close out the season.
